Disabled information
Exmoor zoo is on a gentle slope. The average gradient is 1 in 12, although two short steep slopes (1 in 5) are to be found in the grounds. At least 90% of all paths are laid to tarmac for ease of wheelchair access and level paths exist between the gentle slopes.
Disabled toilet facilities exist within the grounds next to the entrance and only one set of steps, giving access to the picnic area outside the African café exist in the zoo. Alternative wheel chair access is available to this area.
The zoo provides 2 electric mobility scooters which can be pre-booked and hired from reception. These have a hire charge of £5.00 and require a refundable deposit against damage of £20. Also there are 2 self propelled wheel chairs, which you are welcome to book in advance (no charge).
Individual reduced entry rates are available for disabled visitors and their wheelchair attendants. The individual concession entry price of £1 off would apply to both disabled adults and children. Their wheel chair attendant is offered a special half price entry when using their own self propelled wheelchair.
