Meet & greet experiences

These "Meet & Greet" experiences are also available with our dingoes, cheetah, reptiles/tortoises & tapir. They are all about one hour in duration and are your own personal experience. Each participant has free entry to the zoo on the day, and will get a commemerative certificate !

All our meet and greet experiences are on a one to one basis with you and or your family, you will not share your experience with anyone else.

Meerkat experience

Meerkats are adorable! Meerkat Manor, Walt Disney's the Lion King and Compare the Meerkat.com have really created an interest in this lively little mongoose. What are they really like? Why not come and find out! The meerkat experience is about an hour in duration and is just a little bit special!

The experience can only happen on certain days of the week and has to be pre-booked. An afternoon experience beginning at 3.15 pm can be booked in advance. Only the one experience will run on any one day.  You will get a chance to prepare food, feed our colony and provide environmental enrichment, learn about our meerkats and the species. Then to finish, meet and greet one of the zoo's hand reared meerkats, "Seemples or Rascal" on your own, on a one to one basis along with your accompanying keeper!

For Health & Safety reasons we can not offer this experience to any body under 8 years of age and any children doing the expereince must be accompanied by a responsible adult.

If you wish to book this session please either use our online booking form, email us on [email protected] or telephone us on 01598 763352.

We may be able to offer animal experience sessions with different animals in the zoo such as our Tapir or Singing dogs, why not enquire? If we can, we will certainly try and satisfy your request so long as it safe and insurable!

The cost for the experience is £70.00 per person or £120.00 for two and includes entrance to the zoo.

Lemur experience

Exmoor Zoo is lucky to have a lovely and very friendly group of ring tailed lemurs. If you have ever wanted to go to Madagascar and see the lemurs but not been able to afford too or just been fascinated by King Julian on Walt Disney's Madagascar films then this experience will give you a chance to get really close and learn a little more about them!

The experience is about 1 1/4 hours in duration and begins at 11.30am on certain days of the week. Only one lemur experience can happen each day. We will introduce you to the different species of lemur we have here at the zoo, help you prepare a midday snack for our group of ring tailed lemurs and our family of black & white ruffed lemurs and then get you acquainted on a personal one to one basis. After the session is finished we will give you a commemorative certificate and then you have the rest of the day to enjoy the zoo. The lemur experience includes your entrance to the zoo. For Health & Safety reasons we can not offer this expereince to any body under 8 years of age and any children doing the expereince must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
